FAQ's.

Question...... What happens when there is a power cut?

Answer......... All our Gates/Garage doors have a mechanical release to allow the Gates/Garage doors to be operated manually in the event of an emergency, and can be easily re-engaged to remote control operation.

Question......... What power is required to operate the gates?

Answer.......... All our Gates/Garage doors are powered by either 230 volts a.c. or 24 volts d.c. and in the majority of cases from a normal household electricity supply. 1.5 mm Steel Wire Armoured cable is used to connect to the Gates, up to 80 metres from the supply.

Question.......... What is the distance range of the remote controls?

Answer........... Our remote controls can operate the Gates/Garage doors from up to 50 metres. It is recommended for safety reasons that the Gates/Garage doors are in sight before operation.

Question.......... What happens if there is anyone in the way of the gates?

Answer........... All our Gates/Garage doors have power and sensitivity settings, which are set as part of each installation, and if an obstruction is encountered they will stop immediately. In addition we recommend the installation of safety beams, which will automatically stop and re-open the Gates/Garage doors on detection of an obstruction.

Question.......... What about the delivery men (eg postman)coming through the gates?

Answer.......... There are two options here. The gates can be fitted with a tradespersons push button, which can be programmed for operation between certain times (07:30 to 10:00) and will only open the Gates sufficiently for pedestrian access and. they are programmed to close automatically behind them after a set time period. The second option is to have a mailbox fitted to the gate perimeter adding to the overall security of your property.

Question........... Can I buy the gates first and have the automation later?

Answer........... Yes of course it is possible to buy the gates and have them hung manually at first.with automation in mind later. We discuss all options with our customers and will install to their specific instructions whenever possible

Question............ Are the gates locked when closed?

Answer............ With our positive electro-mechanical gate operating machines, they are held in a very firm closed position and cannot be opened manually without an override security key. They could be crashed open by ‘Ram-raiders’, however in most residential cases, criminals are looking for an open gateway where they can drive in and out easily and quietly to avoid detection, so fitting our automatic gates will improve the security of an open gateway 100%

Question............ What do we do about visitors and knowing that they are at our gateway?

Answer............ We can supply and fit wall mounted intercoms with attention buzzer push buttons so that visitors can identify themselves at the gate and you can simply push a button to let them in.

Question............ What if I want gates of a different style or design that I see in your catalogue?

Answer............ We offer a bespoke manufacturing service, allowing you to discuss your own design with us and we will manufacture to your design.

Question............ How soon could I have my electric gates?

Answer............ We have large stocks of automatic Gate/Garage door operating systems available, and can deliver standard systems within 48 hrs. This delivery time also applies to our standard Gates/Garage doors. Gates/Garage doors requiring manufacture are usually available for delivery within 14 days of completion of the order.
