Gates:
We deal mainly in metal gates and wooden gates and generally automate all our gate installations as we have a dedicated team of gate automation engineers who are the core of our business.
We can automate existing gates including, sliding gates, swing gates, pedestrian gates, field gates, and security gates to name a few.
We manufacture in house a wide range of gates in welded steel and wrought iron in a variety of bespoke designs and crafted to exacting standards.
Our steel gates are hot-dip galvanised and powder-coated to provide long-term protection to the weather and to maintain their appearance.
Wooden gates are sourced by us from trusted local suppliers who build gates worthy of automating; our wooden gates are generally made from Iroko and Seasoned Oak which are excellent hardwoods.
If you are thinking about enhancing your home with a gate, you'll be surprised how many options you have to make your new entrance beautiful, impressive and unique.
Classic gate designs are fashioned from Wrought Iron and are often embellished with scrolls, rosettes, finial gate heads and any number of ornamental flourishes.
Materials:
Wrought Iron gates remain the most popular type of gate in the UK. Many people prefer the look of closed boarded wooden gates at the entrance to their property.
Wooden gates do take more maintenance than their metal gates but the varied and beautiful natural finish makes it a wonderful material to make gates from.
Opening Style:
Most gates either wrought iron gates or wooden gates, will swing open like a door, pivoting on a hinge.
This kind of gate will suit most homes, gates usually swing inwards to the property to avoid opening on to a public highway and causing a hazard.
We have information on the advantages and disadvantages of swinging gates for you to view.
Swing gates are of course the classic choice but people with more restricted space or driveways on an incline are still able to have gates at their home.
In this instance you are able to use a sliding gate, which often involves a little more installation work, but is still able to provide the finish your looking for at the entrance to your property.
If this is an option you might like choose, look at our sliding gate information.
Automation:
Improve your home further by automating your gates. You may imagine that electric gates would cost a great deal but we're sure you'll find them to be more affordable than you would have thought.
All of our installers provide you with automated gates if you choose and you can find information on electric gates in the automation section.
Metal & Wrought Iron Gates:
Always popular with customers, gates made from wrought iron offer a diverse range of styles and designs both traditional and contemporary.
Wrought Iron gates are simple to maintain as a well made gate will resist the elements very well.
Wooden Gates:
Many people prefer the look of wooden gates over their metal counterparts.
The natural look and rugged strength of wood helps create a unique and personal set of gates.
Many types of wood can be used depending on your preferences and budget.
Wooden Driveway Gates are commonly fashioned from Hardwoods such as Teak, Iroko and Oak, although they can also be made from Softwoods such as Scandinavian Redwood.
Swing Gates
The majority of gates around the country will be swinging gates, a traditional opening whereby the gates are hinged to one side and open around this pivot point, usually into the property.
This type of gate is ideal for people with ample room on their property for the gate wings to swing into.
Often the first choice for a gate installation, swinging gates are less expensive to install and look better than sliding gates.
Swing gates are also considered safer than sliding gates and are easier to open.
Sliding Gates:
Sliding gates offer a great alternative to swing gates, perhaps you prefer sliding gates or more likely the layout of your property demands a sliding gate as an alternative.
Why Automate Your Gates?
By choosing to have your gates automated, you will further enhance all the benefits of having gates at the entrance of your property.
Beyond the simplicity and convenience of opening and closing your gates with a remote control without having to leave your vehicle (which is most useful at night or in bad weather) automatic gates have additional advantages over that of manual gates.
Automation avoids the struggle with large and heavy gates that many people encounter, a simple press of a button on a remote control allows access.
Visitors will usually use an intercom at the gateway to contact you before you let them in, this helps prevent unwanted callers and hawkers.
On the security front, electrically automated gates have irreversibly geared motors making it difficult for burglars to force open the gates and fitting a maglock ensuring maximum protection can enhance this further.
